Travel Advice

We are hosting our event in Belfast, which is on the island of Ireland but within the United Kingdom. You may require an additional visa - or an ETA (https://www.tourismireland.com/international/en-us/eta) - to attend if you are not a British or Irish citizen. Check visa arrangements with your local embassy and be aware that these may change.
Arrival/Departure by Car:
Queen's University is easily accessible by car. On-street parking is freely available on nearby streets University Square and Elmwood Avenue, but this fills up quickly. Please note we cannot offer campus parking. Further on-street parking is freely available on streets between the Lisburn and Malone roads. Be aware that parking restrictions operate in bus lanes and in some residential areas in the Queen's Quarter. If a short walk is feasible, then parking is normally available for free during the day in Stranmillis.

Arrival/Departure by Bicycle:
If you cycle to the conference venue, there are lockable bike racks outside the Elmwood Building as well as nearby on Elmwood Avenue. Bicycles can be transported on Translink rail services for free after 09.30, including Enterprise rail services from Dublin. Grand Central rail station is a short cycle ride to Queen's. Bicycles can also be transported in the hold on Translink Goldline coach services. See https://www.translink.co.uk/conditions-of-carriage

Arrival/Departure by Rail & Bus:
Dublin-Belfast: Enterprise Rail service takes two hours and takes in some beautiful scenery. There are also frequent bus services via Dublin Airport (see above).

GB-Belfast: Rail & Sail tickets via Holyhead-Dublin or Stranraer-Belfast routes, from any station in Great Britain. The journey from London takes about 12 hours. If you have time, it’s a lovely way to get here.

Arrival/Departure by Air:
Belfast International Airport:
