Conference venues

The conference took place on the main campus across the North and West Wings of the Main Quadrangle, the Geography building and The Hub, which are close to the UCC College Gates entrance at the corner of Western Road and Donovan Road, located 1km from the center of Cork City.

Registration desk:

Outside the Aula Maxima in the North Wing, Main Quad.

Refreshments and lunches

Tea, Coffee and light treats were available during all scheduled morning and afternoon breaks in the Aula Maxima on Wednesday and Thursday, and the West Wing corridor on Friday. Lunch was also available in the Aula Maxima on Wednesday and Thursday, and the West Wing corridor on Friday.

You can find water fountains at various spots on the UCC campus to refill your own water bottles: Map of drinking fountains

Looking for something more than 'conference coffee'? You can buy your own hot drinks, sweet treats and lunch food at various spots on campus: Eating and drinking options at UCC.

UCC aims to be a zero waste campus and as such you will need to bring your own reusable drinks container or you can pay a deposit to loan a cup that will be refunded to you upon return of the cup. Read more about UCC's green campus initiatives here: UCC green campus

Accommodation in Cork

Cork is a fairly geographically compact city and it is reasonably easy to get to UCC's campus from any hotel in the city centre by public transport (bus), walking or cycling. There are many options for visitors to stay in the city centre, which you can find on websites such as Booking.com, Hotels.com by searching Cork City. This includes recognisable names such as the Premier Inn, the Maldron, the Leonardo, and the Clayton. There is also the newly opened The Dean hotel close to Cork Kent train station for those looking for a convenient option close to their train.
